October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Health Department event to increase breast cancer awareness

The Wisconsin Well Woman Program ( WWWP) offers free breast and cervical screenings to low-income women ages 45-64 who are uninsured or underinsured. For women who are ages 35-44, screening services are also available if there are breast or cervical concerns and they meet the program income and insurance eligibility requirements.

More than 40,000 women die annually of breast cancer. October is the month to remember those lost, increase our efforts for those still fighting and spread further awareness of breast cancer. Early detection helps fight breast cancer. This is why regular mammograms are so important.

Join the Health Department on Monday October 18th from 10am to 2pm in the first floor lobby of the Public Agency Center to celebrate breast cancer awareness and to learn more about WWWP for yourself or a loved one. This celebration will include breast health giveaways and a drawing for a prize.

For more information please contact Rene Parker at 262-335-4513.

Volunteer Front-Desk Phone Reception Opportunities

We are looking for volunteers to assist us with front desk phone/patient reception. We have opportunities available on:

Mondays: 1:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.
Tuesdays: 1:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.
Thursdays: 9:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.

* Back-up assistance Mondays through Thursdays is always welcome, as it is always possible that regularly scheduled volunteers may need to cancel their shift last minute.

If day time hours work better in your schedule or you know someone who is looking for day-time volunteer opportunities in a medical setting, please let us know!

If you enjoy talking with patients over the phone and advising them on our hours, location, and general questions regarding our agency and other county resources, please let us know! All medical questions will be handled by our healthcare providers.
